  • G400 users.......

Yeah, I know that G400 is a great card and I also believe that most of you were also the G200 lovers. Since that I can't afford a G400 right now, I wonder if any of you guys have an used "8MB SGRAM" module for MillG200 for sale? BTW, is there any difference in performance between 8 or 16?

BTW, although I am a junior member, but I have been reading you guys' valuable informations without posting since the September last year. Thank you guys!

I have another question: If I am really going to get a G400 (instead of a 8MB upgrade), do you guys think that it really worth it that much (for around US$200)? How about GeForce 256 from nVidia?

as far as I remeber, there will be no difference in 3d gaming, only in 2d, so save your self some money, try selling your g200 and get g400

edit: and don't come here saying that u will get geforce, cause some people on this forum will eat u alive!

Ha......I do NOT like the people come here and say how good other hardwares are and how did they dump their Matrox too.....
The reason I mentioned it is that I want to know the suggestion from you guys, G400 users, and how do you think about it(the nVidia stuff).

          Q3 Test 1.08 Demo 1 1024*768*32 32bit texture 37 fps /at this point I'm better with my G400@162/202.5 Sh 32MB
          Hi chiuang!
          Q3 Test 1.08 Demo 1 1280*960*32 32bit
          texture 22 fps
They've tested on a P3 500 Q3 all max, triliniar filtering. This results are not better than a tnt2/u.Thinking into the future the geforce can do up to 80000 polygons.
In ogl, geforce beat the shit out off proffessional ogl boards.Maybe this was a little help for you.

Are you only going to play games or do you also mess around with Adobe, 3d Maxx, and the like. I say this because I also do CG and the matrox kicks ass in both app's and games. But if yer only doing games, go for something less sofisticated(?).

Your upgrade to 16 MB may be cost effective if you want additional colors at high resolutions. This is useful at 1600x1200 or higher.
