Advice for a Matrox newbie?

Hi all,

I have recently ordered a new system with everything but a Video card. For that I bought the G400Max directly from matrox on-line. I have the MAX sitting at home right now, but I'm still waiting for the rest of the system.

Since this will be a completely new and fresh install, where should I start? PD 5.25 and see what's working, or should I jump in head first with the new PD 5.30?

Here are the main system specs:

P3 - 500
Soyo 6BA III MB (or if they got my change in time the 6BA IV with on-board ATA-66 controller)
128 MB PC133
13.5 GB IBM ata66 HD
SB Live! X-Gamer
Pioneer 10x DVD
3Com sportser 56K internal modem (ISA)

Just jump right in. If they give you problems, then, maybe, start messing around with older drivers. I don't see a reason to go backwards.
