      Hi,

      System: K6/2-350 o/c 400, MB DFI P5BV3+, 64Mb PC100, G400 16Mb DH, SBLive.

      800x600x16
      3DMark Result : 1800 max (...!)
      CPU 3D Speed : ~5700

I tried many things to improve (overclocking, changing BIOS params ...), I reinstalled Win98 with the last drivers I found ... it seems I can't reach a higher score on 3DMark MAX.

      Can anyone help?

      Thanks,
      JM

You should be getting at least 2800.

Did you install all your motherboard drivers? There is a 4N1 package available on Via's site. http://www.via.com.tw/

Once you have a score of around 2600, try using a 112MHz bus if your motherboard supports it. 392 is faster than 400.

            Hi Alessandro,

Tony is using 3DMark99 MAX ...

you can see that easily by looking at the 3DMark Build Version: 200 ...

The old one was build 100.

            ...

            Jihem:

Make sure you have VSync disabled and no other programm running in the background (such as scanner-port watchers, Anit-Virus apps etc.)

            Cheers,

After restoring default bios params & setting them back to my previous config I got more "normal" numbers (~2600 3DMarks). I could not find which setting caused the problem (may be an initialization bug ?!?).

Anyway, my score is now similar to Tony :

              3DMark Result : 2,689 3DMarks
              Synthetic CPU 3D Speed : 5,492 CPU 3DMarks
              Rasterizer Score : 2,196 3DRasterMarks
              Game 1 - Race: 30.9 FPS
              Game 2 - First Person: 22.7 FPS
              Fill Rate : 228.8 MTexels/s
              Fill Rate With Multi-Texturing : 219 MTexels/s
2MB Texture Rendering Speed: 301.5 FPS
4MB Texture Rendering Speed: 238.0 FPS
8MB Texture Rendering Speed: 163.4 FPS
16MB Texture Rendering Speed: 66.8 FPS
Bump Mapping Emboss, 3-pass: 92.9 FPS
Bump Mapping Emboss, 2-pass: 117.1 FPS
Bump Mapping Emboss, 1-pass: 182.6 FPS

I'll to try to play with bios, drivers & overclocking to have better results.
