Motub, the irq routing is fine as it just updates it to the new one, it's the bus mastering that's causing the probs

I have had a VIA chipset since the early PC100 releases [TMC T15VG+...with a Mil G200 SG

The problems with the VIA Busmastering drivers started with version 2.1.40 [I think..maybe 2.1.39]...the version before that [i.e before the whole 4-in-1 package appeared...2.1.36 I think] worked fine....infact installing them improved disk access and general performance...so If you can get hold of those give em a try.

Has anyone told VIA about these issues?...not that they'd listen tho.

Thank you, RAB, Jim... turned off DMA on my CD-ROM drives and voila!! CD Audio!!! Woohoo!!!!

Haven't burned a CD yet, but Easy CD creator is much snappier, I'm sure it will work now!!!

Thanks a bunch for solving a problem I didn't even think to ask about...!

I'll let you know as soon as I install it... on my new MAX!!! [with thanks and kisses to Jorden and ALBPM (Paul)...]

(but I have to assemble my BX box to do that.. not much point in putting it in a K6-2 system...)
