  • Lockup after lockup........ :-(((((

I am having a very hard time with my G400Max !! Every time I start up a game it frezzes.
I have checked weather the card is inserted correctly, taken out all the PCI cards, and there is are no IRQ interrupts eighter.
    I'm using PD 5.30.

What the h... is wrong ? Right now, it seems like a waste of money !!

Please take a moment and HEEEEEEEELP :-))

First clock your p3 back to normal and see if that fixes it.
Also list your IRQs & stuff.

Typically, it's Unreal and Q2 which both are OpenGL games, but also the game Shadowman frezzes which is D3D.

My RAM is regular PC100 RAM doing 133 Mhz

First, make sure your AGP ratio is set to 2/3
then make sure the AGP aperture is set to 128or256
Make sure all Video caching and shadowing is disabled in your BIOS

Also Make sure that your G400 is fully seated, there is thread describing how to tell if you just look for threads labeled Abit/G400 Max, etc...

Are you using any USB devices??? If so, put your PCI soundcard into PCI slot 2.

Also, have you had any other video cards in your system?

Have you disabled all video caching and shadowing in your BIOS (you should).

What does it look like when your system is freezing? Have you tried forcing AGP1X?

Try setting your L2 cache to 8. And then if all else fails bend the bracket on your G400 per the pics and drawings in this thread.

                            Hello Guys,

I'm not using USB devices. Previously I have had a V2 and a Creative RivaTNT card installed, but I should have deleted those drivers and also the registry.
I have also disabled both video caching and shadowing.
It still frezzes when forcing AGP1x.
Furthermore I have tried to change the L2 chache to both 8 and 15 - both of them still resulted in lockups.
My power supply is a 235W from SevenTeam....???

Does any of this ring a bell - I SURE HOPE SO !!

I guess that you have already tried to disable Bus Mastering in the screen properties...? Thats the only thing that worked for me. No more black box mouse pointer and strange pixel lines.

No freezes - No Bus Mastering...
