HELP! MY G400 BIOS DIED, OEM G400 32mb dual head OWNERS LOOK HERE PLEASE!

My G400 bios got totally killed, I am dead in the water, the only way i could recover is get a .bin file from someone that has made an emergency disk ( you do it right before you update your bios, lol i didnt) The file is usually named b_xxxx.bin, If you have an OEM Dual head 32MB G400 Card, would you please send me your .bin file! Its my only hope, this sux, else i gotta send it back to matrox and that would suck ass, it has to be that exact card for it to work, if you would id appreciate it big time!

Would a retail Dual head 32MB G400 bios do? If so maybe I can help. I've got it on a floppy somewhere but I don't want to start searching unless it's compatible

At worst you could always e-mail matrox and ask for one. They sent me a bin for my old Mil 2 and it fixed the problem!

Yea...Matrox will send you the file you need. The problem with using someone else's recovery file is that you will end up with their serial number. The file you get from Matrox will have no serial number.

heres the deal, Matrox told me how to force a flash with the recent bios package on their www site, my problem seems it flashes fine but the chip wont hold a charge, it erases as soon as i turn off the power to take out the isa card and try and boot up the g400 grrrrrr , i guess im finished heh

Matrox sent me a file (g400max.exe) that contains the following:

Autoexec.bat
Command.com
Dl8.exe
Dos4Gw.exe
Progbios.exe
save.bin

It totally resets your BIOS, (even resets the counter)...is this what you are looking for???

Please read the article on G200 BIOS recovery on my website. It may give you some ideas. There is a slight chance that your BIOS chip is out of order, in which case the card should be replaced. There is also another chance - "locked BIOS syndrome"; in that case (so far unknown on G400) it is possible to cure it by software.
Please do the following test:
program the BIOS using some other VGA card and then run PROGBIOS again. Check if the BIOS was programmed correctly (version info, etc.) If so, your BIOS is volatile (disappearing). If PROGBIOS says it can't see the BIOS right after programming it, your BIOS is locked. If this is the case, please contact me!!!
