That darn g200techdemo again...

Trying to get tech demo (g200demof5p1) to run on my SS7 system. I have the system running fairly stabily now, but when I run tech demo I get splash screen, then when I hit run, it goes full screen black, then just bounces me back to the desktop.

5.25 drivers,
32 bit z
16 MB G200 AGP
etc.

Your setup/problems sound very similar to what I had a while back... Mine seems to be ok now tho...
What motherboard do you have? And G200 BIOS?

hiya

i remember having the same problem with that demo, and it led to me finding out that my agp card was not agp enabled. after i got agp enabled, the demo worked. do i remember ss7 boards having a tough time enabling agp? if you're not sure that you're even getting 1x agp then use the 'pcilist' (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/cgi-bin/clickcount.pl?url=www.entechtaiwan.com/files/pcilist.exe) program to find out. at the time i was using win95b and found out that the usbsupp from the install disk needed to be installed BEFORE the busmastering drivers after the os had been installed. in other words i had to reinstall 95 to get the usbsupp in before the bm drivers. but if yer using 98 i dunno what to tell ya.

boy what a difference enabling the agp made. got to see the demo, and everything else with big textures speed right up. although i still can't get stable 2x agp .

I'll include the information from my signature...

I uninstalled PD and Gart, then reinstalled both. Now I get flashing textures as the demo starts, then a crash (complete lockup).

Any Ideas?
