  • How do I enable dual head?? G400

I have 2 monitors plugged in and 1 is always blank. I went into the deisplay properties but can't find the setting.

    I have version 5.30 drivers.

There is no dual head tab in the advanced properties.

Did you remove all previous drivers thoroughly using the Matrox PD5.x removal utility?

If you need it, it can be downloaded here

What "Extra hardware" is listed under the Infomation tab?

        You should see "DualHead (built-in)"

How is the card described under the "Adapter" tab; Should be "Matrox Millennium G400 DualHead - English" or similar, just be sure the word dualhead is in there somewhere

There is no extra hardware listed.

The card is listed just as you say G400 -dualhead - english

I'm pretty sure this is a hardware fault, so the card will have to go back.

Kruzin or Haig, what do you think?

              Hey,

Better remove that DVD hardware decoder from your G400 card!! Matrox do not support this kind of attachment. The pins on the card are for the Rainbow Runner G and not a DVD card... Remove it and you Dual head tab will come back

How did you know I had that hooked up? Did you do the same thing?

GENIUS!! It works and now I have a HUGE desktop (19" monitor and 17" monitor at 1280X1024 each)

                THANKS!!!!!!

hehe... you got it or you don't Never had a decoder card in my system but saw that problem before... Only thing to remeber is that you cannot connect internally any Non-Matrox devices...
