Define "big". Just the fonts, or is your resolution low? What flavor of Linux are you using? What version? Have you upgraded XFree? Have you properly configured the card? What about Ctrl-Alt-+/-?
I know I can solve your problem, but we've got to narrow it down some.

It's probably cos you're in 320x240... Try what Wombat said about ctrl-alt-+, and run xconfigurator/xf86config & make sure you have the screen resolutions/colour depths setup right.

that 16 meg G200 card is slightly off specs and I am sure that Linux does not have the info on that G200... a normal G200 would work jsut fine... try latest kernel at worst..

You should be using the XFree86 SVGA Driver 3.3.5 for the G200/400. It does sound like you're just using a low resolution though. Depending on what resolutions you have defined in your /etc/X11/XF86Config file (assuming RedHat), you should be able to cycle through them using Ctrl/Alt/+ or Ctrl/Alt/-.

ok, i got RedHat 6 Unleashed book with cds, i didnt do any upgrades, when i run Xconfigurator, there is no change in res in any res (for 8 bit or for 16 or for 24), and i tried using millenium 2, and g400, and something else, but it doesnt work, the res is still LOOOOOOOOW, really low, and u tell me so much things, how do i suppose to know everything if i installed it yesterday, and the book is kinda lame in a "newbie" way, not good defining, it is for intermidiate...
what do i have to do, and what do i have to download...

No doubt you have to use XFree3.3.5 for G200/G400 cards. I have been struggling with XFree3.3.3 that came with Redhat 6.0 and evry time after finished configuring my Linux GUI using Xconfigurator, startx will defitely end up in 320x240 (aka. virtual desktop resolution) and everthing appears BIG!!

I switched to XFree3.3.5 using Mandrake 6.1 and everything was solved. G400 is now even accelerated in GUI and my desktop now runs at 1024x768 @ 32bits, really sweet!!

Download the latest XFree3.3.5 at www.xfree86.org
and reconfigure your X-server. Anyway you will be using the SVGA X-server for G400.

              - You are able to choose G400 16Mb this time round so choose it!!
              - Do not set any chip clock timings.
              - Also do not use Probe.
              - Set the resolutions you wish to run at and finish up the rest of the configurations.

Finally, type 'startx' at prompt, sit back, hold your breath, cross your fingers, and stare at your screen until the whole x-server runs at its full glory and tadaaa!!!

              Hope this helps!! 8-D
