  • 8MB SGRAM upgrade for G200

I purchase an 8MB SGRAM upgrade from Allstar Components in CA, USA. This is one of those built to spec kind of parts. I had read posts that relayed issues with the compatiblity of those parts. This one, however, has been working like a champ under medium stress. And it was only $25US plus shipping.

I'm not right now. With my old K6-2 rig, it didn't help at all. Now, I may think about it.

Does anybody have any suggestions about which util is best at it. MGA tweak that I downloaded about 9months ago was a little thin if you aren't well versed in phase-lock loops and such.

I have the 8MB SGRAM upgrade module for the G200 and am no longer using it. If anyone is interested in it email me.

I didn't get around to checking the chip lables. I have to remove the card to get at them.

I did however run MGA tweak. I could raise fo from 168 (stock) to about 180-185 without crashing in an actual OGL game (quake2).

This resulted in about a 2fps boost.
I haven't had a chance to mess with the SGRAM optimization portion of the prog, though.
