Hunsow is fishing alright, I think he's one of those ASUS guys that likes to mess with jumpers still.

He's just at a loss because I no longer have the messiest desk on the Forum He has to tease me about something it's a long standing tradition around here

I cannot believe how serious some of you took my comment. Of course I was fishing, but I was hoping on some not seriously ment flame like responses. And I have a jumperless AOpen, the cheapest and most stable and hassle free of all the "A" brands.

Heh-heh. Nah, Hunsow, no problem getting the meaning of your post (a little fun, right). We just like to take up for our hardware once in a while.

BTW- I have two Abit's too (two too, or tu-tu, ... never mind).

One is in the old case- a BH6, no probs. It's the first revision though, so that new BIOS that was mentionned does me no good.

The newer one is a BE6, currently running with a Maxtor 15 GB DMA 66 / WD 6.4 GB DMA 33 on the HPT366 controllers, and an LG 32x CD / Hitachi 6x DVD on the Intel controllers. This board is so cool! I mean, four IDE devices, each on it's own cable, so no slowdown between devices caused by multiple devices on a single bus. Oh, in addition to those, got 256MB ram, an Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card with Yamaha 4416S / SyQuest SyJet drives attached externally. Last but not least (can't forget this, for it to be relevent to this forum), a G400Max.

Can't say that everything is perfectly stable on both systems, only because I need another monitor and more ram to finish the older box (no memory in it at all at the moment). I DID finally completely remove the V2 from the new system though. I figure that old TNT in the other box could probably use some help. The Max is certainly running every game I'm using now well enough.

Anyway Hunsow- thanks for the chance to gloat over this system again. Some others have faster or more expensive systems, but all-in-all, these Abit based systems have been really reliable and fast for me for the last 2 years (wow! Can't believe it's been that long since I got the BH6/Celery 300a combo. Guess time really flies.)

I added the 15GB just yesterday, and in the process I removed my V2 and an older ISA SCSI card (attached to a scanner), as well as taking the internal 4416S and moving it into an external case. I'm hoping by moving all those components out of the case, that the case temperature will drop enough to allow me to push the Max a little higher with MGATweak, heh-heh. Whelp, gotta get moving. I need to get ready for my ballet, er.. fishing.
