Sorry, Lots of questions!

My pc has been playing up recently.
When every win98 reboots my pc power light just flashes as if it is in standby mode.
I have to physically remove the power cable and insert it.
Then when i press the power on button the machine warms up, the fan kicks in but noting happens.
I have to wait a few sconds and then repeatedly hit the power switch for about 5/10 secs.
Then my PC boots.

It happend around the same time i installed my G400, but i dont think that is the problem.
The only component which has not been replaced recently is the motherboard.

Any clues?

Hi Cheggers,

these are common symptoms of an either dying or too weak a power supply. Get yourself a 300+ Watts PS.
The PS only starts when the mobo signals "power good" on a dedicated cable.
If you have a good fire insurance you could short the power good line of the ps and ground to fool it into thinking it is strong enough... Nah, better forget about that ;-)
To prove things, rip out as many harddisks as possible and the machine should run.

son of a bitch i had that same problem with a difrent system i always thought it was some sort of a thermal swich or somethnig finaly i trashed the whole case and of corse never saw that problem again. (this was years ago i tell you !!!!) no really dam it was a shit power supply all the time and it was really a while ago my last at case. i have seen the light and it bares a remarkable likeness to atx form factor.
