Oh man, I thought Only I am the Only Lucky Guy that Never got the G400Max from NECX.com
    Wow, I am not alone
here is my story, I order my G400 MAX even earlier then that buddy,I order it on maybe like ...wait let me check....Oh
I order it on May 24, that time a G400MAX on NECX.com Is only 209.95, I order it because I saw a lot of review said it's good, and NECX.com's ETA date is Near, so I order one
But I am SOOOOoo piss that It's ETA is pushing back and back, and Last Month on about the Sept 8 I think, before I go to Tokyo game show, I am So angry that this is the first time I wait for a video card for 5 months, so I cancel It before I go to Japan.

I'm usually not oen to bitch, but this situation has me pretty upset also. Matrox is giving the appearance that they don't care about the Retail/Mail order stores and are pretty much screwing them over (in the US anyway). I too ordered a MAX from a Matrox listed retailer over a month ago (I know.. not that long compared to others) and still nothing. It is coming across that Matrox is jerking the consumers around, and that reallly upsets me. I know I could order the thing online from the Matrox store, but I refuse to on principle, since its almost like they are choking the US supply to get more full price orders. Good for their profits, bad for customer relations. Matrox seems to have made some great strides in the development groups with the drivers and all, (and I applaud that) but they have a long way to go with the sales/marketing department.

Go read murc's news page. Matrox gave Ant a reply to his queries. Basically, looks like if you want a MAX, the only way it's gonna happen is from the Matrox on-line store...

        Hah!
I got you beat. I ordered from NECX on May 13! Do I win a prize?.....eeeeeeeh!!! Sorry! You are not a winner this time...please order from our very own Matrox Online store to receive your card. As an added bonus for waiting (patiently?) for 6 months, we extend to you this special offer to pay $30+ more than you would have if we shipped the card out like we said we would to our resellers. Thank you for playing!

        Oh...happy, happy days.

I ordered mine through Matrox on the 4th of June. I got it in the 3rd week of August (extreme backlog, even there, at that time). I hope they soon get their distribution channels fixed; it would be nice for the rest of the world to see how popular their cards are now. They just have to have them available, and then maybe they'll have an installed base comparable to 3dfx and nVidia. The way things are right now, that's just not possible, and people buy other cards rather than wait or pay that $250+.

Well, its nice that Matrox got some kick ass OEM deals with high profile computer retailers. Now maybe they will start shipping some MAXs out to the online/retail stores so we have a shot at one.
heheheh... I'm not holding my breath, but I can dream, can't i?

Well if they are getting the cards, what do you think that will do for the supply?

Rylan: Matrox is not just starving the US of Max cards, try finding them in Canada. I settled for a vanilla G400DH OEM through mail order. The more OEM deals they capture the less allocation to retail.

                    LOL
                    Damn
                    this is crazy.....sigh....
I first really thought that is the NECX.com's problem.
                    I order it on May.
Then I wait for a Month.
I was thinking that " probably because the product delay a bit"
On July I was thinking " probably just because so many people order it from NECx"
On August I was thinking of " Hmm....What's going on? Matrox going out of Business or something?? "
On Sept " To hell with Matrox, Gonna cancel my ****ing ORder !)@&$!(#&%Y!PQHRFWE(!1 "
This month, I went to check to See what other video cards selling on Necx.com, damn, the whole Matrox Section are remove!
                    I was like LOL!
I remove my G200 and RRG from my system and toss it to my other Suck computer that got a AMD K6-2 300 CPU, and I order a Good old Rage Fury(only 93 bucks,it performs much much Better then G200 in 3D) and Pop it into My Athlon 600 system.
damn, I give up with Matrox.
I will only go to Matrox site for driver Updates for my G200 and RRG

With the unexpected high demand in the G400 and Max, Matroxs' cards were all back-ordered and awaited for production in late Sep. Even internal Matrox employee purchase took 2-3 weeks!! (It's worth the wait for half price Imagine how long it'll take to distribute to Retail store?

you could design a nice car, tool it, assemble it and get it on a showroom floor faster than a G400. Its a stinkin Video card not a Bridge. In fact I bet they can build a Bridge faster. Or maby You could build 100 4 bedroom single family homes faster. Feature length movies are delevered faster. You can get a "drinkable" bottle of wine faster. I CAN PRODUCE CHILDREN FASTER!! Still can't find a Max here in NJ....

I think it would only be good manners (and good business) for Matrox to issue some sort of apology (and perhaps a rebate) to those of us who stuck it out through months of waiting and being lied to about etas and were still loyal enough to buy a MAX from their online store. The insensitivity of the Matrox marketing department to its most loyal customers is really dumbfounding. Now we know where all the MAXs are going. Matrox has been trying to keep up with Dell's demand.

Well, I ranted about this topic awhile ago and now it seems (but I'm not assessing poultry yet) the Canadian distributor Supercom has finally come through. According to one of their salespeople, a whole skid of the Max's arrived on Friday, and my OEM retailer said I should have it by tomorrow.

Read: "should." I'm around #80 on the list, and if there were more than 80 some odd cards, I "should" get one. So for any of you who ordered through Supercom in T.O. (or a retailer who deals with them) and have been waiting a few months, you just might be in luck!

There *is* a light at the end of the tunnel (or is that just an oncoming train?).

                            ....Tessen....

Didn't you all learn your lesson with the G200? :-) You all KNEW the G400 series would be hard to find until September, and the MAX even more so, especially if you paid attention to the fiasco that was the G200's rollout.

Besides that, look at all the OEM wins Matrox has had. As we all know, OEM is where the money *cough* ATI *cough* is. So what if you step on your loyal retail buyers? It doesn't matter one whit if they get those big OEM contracts.

If you want a MAX, pay through the nose and order it from Matrox's store. The only reason I DIDN'T go through the store was because someone posted here about the MAX being available from www.sg3d.com, and I managed to get the LAST ONE. Plus, sg3d.com would ship it OVERNIGHT - the Matrox store wouldn't (I'm an impatient bastard).

$270 and the TurboGL later (what a supreme leap of faith that was), and I'm a happy camper. You can be, too - just toss Matrox your $250 and wait for the MAX to be built and shipped. It's not like spending $250 is outrageous, especially when you realize you're getting two cards in one (price a TNT2Ultra lately?).

Hey, maybe they'd autograph each one for you, seeing as how it takes so long for the damm things to be made? Then you could go sell it on eBay for 10 million. :-)

                              Just my $0.02
