    I have a K7M from Singapore (where I am). I had problems with the AGP port running my old Guillemot TNT2U board. I just crashes when running any game (only games mind you). It runs forever on Windows 98/Word/Excel/Netscape etc....

    After doing swaps of everything from CPU to another MB to RAM to installing DX7 etc.... it boiled down to one thing - the K7M MB does not supply the needed 6A at 3.3V needed by the Guillemot TNT2U running at the default 175(Core)/183(RAM)MHz.

    I am also using an AMD recommended PS - the 400W Leadman LP-6100. So it was not the PS - tried on other PS too!

    Finally solved it by reducing the clock speed to 150/183. Barely stable at this speed with infrequent lockups in games. Lowered it to 125/183Mhz and everything is now rock stable.

    Since I had no interest in using my TNT2U at TNT2 speed, I sold it off and bought a vanilla G400 which works well on the K7M.

    Anyway, anyone knows what the maximum values for overclocking the standard G400 with 6ns SGRAM?

      6ns ram is 'rated' for 166Mhz. Every one is different, just increase the speed till you have problems, then back of a little. A little trial and error, but it will give you your maximum speed/value.

        -->TheMorg:

        1) How is the 1.06 BIOS? Any good?

        2) What did you use to flash your BIOS?

        3) 3 Chasis intrusion leads, do you need to cap ALL three pins together, i.e. short all three together to the ground pin? Or will shorting just the chasis signal pin to ground pin do?
