The BE6 is excellent IMHO. Overclocking wise I have used a Celeron 300A@450, and 366@550, no problems at all.
Yes you can use your PII 300 in it.
The P3B-F is a good board, but if you don't need 6 PCI slots save £20 and get a BE6. Or wait and get a BE6rev2 (whenever it appears).
