• Open Gl !

owner of G400,
I am very disappointed that opengl
is not fully supported.
The latest drivers (powerdesk 5.30.007)are
still buggy and many professional 3d apps
(Nendo for example) doesn't work on my
machine due to openGl problems (It works
when I use a software opengl dll)
Is it that hard to make a good driver ?

Actually, it is very very very hard to develop a working FULL OpenGL ICD in a short period of time for a new chip targetted mainly for the gaming market.

Look at the professional dedicated OpenGL accelerators. Can you get one for the price of a G400 MAX and get performance on par with the MAX?

Let me know if anyone does.

Exactly. What do you expect from a mainstream product.. (mainstream != professional OpenGL apps)

Ah, crap. OpenGL is just that, OpenGL. What's the point of supporting it HALF? Matrox is more than a year "working" on those OpenGL drivers, and someone might expect a bit better support than this.

Even for a mainstream gamecard (which it surely is NOT, IMO) I would expect it to work, take or give some minor glitches.

I'm going to take courses in OpenGL programming. It would be nice if I could to the practicum-stuff on my own computer, with a G200. But actually I fear the worst. I don't have the money to buy a 3DLabs Oxygen MCCXXIV card.
