  • Does every body have probs with G400 & SB live

I have a SB live value on an ABIT BE6 MOBO and I have just ordered my G400 MAX !!!

If anyone else is using this configuration please post some info on this subject so that when it arrives I will be prepared to deal with problems.

Hopefully I won't have any but you never know with computers..

    cheers matt {:O)

It seems like that as long as you have the newest drivers for your Live and your Max, you should be fine. Version 3.0 liveware, and the drivers with the turboGL for the Max.

I have and never had problems or whatsoever with my G400 32 DH (non MAX), different driver-versions of PD, SBLive! (Liveware 2.0 or 2.1 and 3.0), Abit BX6 rev. 2.0 mobo.

Everytime when I look into this Forum, I C a lotta problems. I never had any. I know other Matrox G400 users and they haven't got problems either. Using Abit mobo's, SBLive soundcards etc....
        It just works fine.

I have never had a problem with mine. I have run the Liveware that came with the card, 2.0,2.1, and now 3.0. I have had my G400 since before they where on the market, with more driver versions than I can remember. The worst problem I've had has been purely related to the Live! with it's early drivers, and skipping sounds in some games. My system is(and had been) rock stable, and runs 24/7, often for a week or more without a reboot...

Cool I was just starting to panic when you see a lot of others complaining about configuration probs with the hardware that you already own you start to get a little paranoid.

Im hoping for an uneventfull installation lasting no more than ten minuits so that I can get gaming.

            My specs

            ABIT BE6

              I've never had a problem either =)
Odds are the only people you hear talking about the SB Live + G400 are the people who have problems, so you really can't tell the number of happy customers :P
I've used an SB Live and a G200 on a BH6, and an SB Live and a G400 on a BE6, using all different versions of powerdesk and livewire without a single problem.
Like always, keep your IRQ's sorted out and you'll be juuuuusstt fine =)

                Hi echo

why don't you o\c your 450 any higher than 558 is it a problem with your agp buss speeds,or is it your cpu not wanting to go any higher? what S code is yours?

mine is SL35D and it runs a true 100% at 630mhz without any extra voltage.. {:O)

My system runs GREAT. This was the First system I built from the ground up myself with no help. I do recomend you flash your BE6 Bios to the most current version that ABIT has on their web sight, and make sure you get the most recent drivers for your new G400 when it arrives if it didnt ship with them that is. If all else fails, keep playing with it. THis forum is AWSOME. All the advise has helped me to set my system up so it runs great.

Thanks for all your replies, it looks as though my worries are unfounded and that there seems to be NO compatability probs with the g400 max and the sound blaster live value.

So I can sleep soundly tonight and hope that my MAX comes tommorrow {;O)
