  • Dualhead DVD-Max output size problem

I have a problem with showing video in from a window on my monitor on my TV (DVD-max).

The picture on the TV is a little bit zoomed in, i loose an inch on everys side of the screen on my 28´Tv set.
I find this a little bit anoying since you miss out a little bit what happens in the corners.
This happens on both DVD-playback and mpg playback using windowsmedia player.

Of course i could switch to clone and set the screensize as a monitorcontrol, but the clone image isnt as crisp and good coulourful as the DVD-mac picture no matter how much you fiddle with the gamma, saturation controls and so on.
Also the picture in clone-mode gets a little "bended" on the edges.

Is there any way to change the output size of the screen in DVD-max mode?

    Hi,
Sadly, this is the same 'problem' I have. I have had my suspicions confirmed in a previous post (thanks Genom). This is a problem called... overscan (cue lightning, thunder and sinister Hammon organ). All televisions will do this to some extent. If it means anything to you, I've seen it on every G400 I've tried (one of my techs installed about 20 of them at work, and they got a thrashing ).
What I would really be interested to hear some answers on is:-
1: Why do the Zoom or Clone features not suffer the same cropping on a TV?
2: Is this also a problem on hardware decoders?

    Rgds,
