• HHAAIIGG!! (same post, problem unsolved)

This message was already posted - got info from a source at Matrox to send the message to Haig - Haig, hope you read it!

Hi,
I last week got a Asus K7M + Athlon 500. Everything works fine, AGP, USB, Ethernet, 2D, 3D, etc... except one thing: Turbo GL.

I uninstalled the drivers using the setup utility, rebooted. Clicked cancel when windows detected the card. I went in mgafold/win_530, clicked on setup.

"G400 drivers - installed"
"TurboGL - failed"

I redownloaded the drivers, same problem.
I reboot, windows still ask for drivers for "VGA display card"

If I put the openGL32.dll in the game dir, I don't get any improvment, in Q2, I don't see "g400 turbogl", etc...

BTW, the AMD miniport is installed

Anyone have any idea? R0M? And? Haig? anyone?

Thanks!!

Maybe it's because the K7M is a brandnew mobo that the drivers don't know about yet??

Or guys, was it because the current TurboGL was for P3/SSE systems only??

I don't know, but I am sure it'll be included in the future!

PS: Updating your G400 BIOS to the newest BIOS in necessary for your G400 to work with TGL...

Heirauqs, I attempted to address this problem of yours in the other thread, but either you weren't listening or didn't care to try my suggestions. Do you really need help and are you willing to listen, cause I would be willing to try.

Ummm sweetie... the TurboGL is for the P3 and Athlon only, afaik...

But perhaps you did not install correctly, Heiraugs... the procedure is

uninstall previous PD using the uninstall utility
set your display driver to VGA, which it seems you did not
reboot into Safe Mode and remove all other video card drivers from previous cards in your system, if necessary
reboot into Windows and go thru the detection routine (cancelling a Windows "Add New Hardware" procedure is never a good idea)
install PD from the temp folder.
Try it that way and see if it works.

Well then why is he having to cancel an "Add New HW Wizard" process, then, huh??? Tell me that??? For the VGA drivers, of all things???

Greebe: I tried all what you told me, and I replied. Thanks for your help... Didn't work tho...

It seems that Jorden is right, it's because the K7M is too new... I heard next drivers (5.35, or whatever they are) should fix this..

Thanks all!

Hi Heirauqs,

That mobo is on order to add to our mobo list for testing. It is pretty new on the market so I don't know how well it will work with our cards.

That message will usually come up if our TGL does not detect a PIII or an Athlon.

I am a bit confused with your post.
You state:

"G400 drivers - installed"
"TurboGL - failed"

"I reboot, windows still ask for drivers for "VGA display card""

If our drivers are not installed, then the TGL will not work. If our drivers are properly installed, then try this:

1 - Move your cfg file out of the Q2 directory.

2 - Delete all OGL files from the Q2 directory, like opengl32.dll, 3dfxgl.dll, rendit.dll (I think that's what Rendition calls it), etc.

3 - Run our TGLmanager so that it can install our TGL.

4 - Run Q2 and select default OGL and try it.

If that doesn't work, next time you boot up, don't cancel the add new hardware message box. Use that message box to manually select "have disk" and install our drivers via our inf file. Then try the steps that I mentioned above.

Other things to try:

- Uninstall our drivers
- Boot into safe mode
- Goto Device manager and delete all multiple entries under Display Adapters.
- Boot up into windows and re-install our drivers.

Haig

Thanks Haig, thanks Ron.

I will try that

As for the new bios, I tried it, have a problem :-(

it says "can't find bios hook"

altho I flashed my friend's Asus P3B-F fine...

I have to use the aflash.exe right?
