HELP - Problems with new G400-MAX

I have just installed my new G400-MAX. I ran the TechDemo and it looks quite nice. Then I tried to change some of the settings (F1 - change depth etc.) but everytime I press a key the screen goes blank for about 8 seconds then re-appears (the music continues to play). What's going on - is there something wrong with my setup?

The drivers are 5.11.something that came on the CD. I will update with 5.30 tonight.

System:
Celeron @ 100 x 4.5
BH6
128Mb SDRAM
SB32 pnp

Thats normal, screen goes blank while changes are being implemented. Time to worry is when it does not reappear, ever.

Have you free-flighted yet and chased the fairy? If you get fresh, she'll clobber you.

Oh, I forgot to mention that when I look in system->devices->video card

The resources tab on the G400 says:
Memory range EC000000 - EDFFFFFF
Memory range E8000000 - E8003FFF
Memory range E9000000 - E97FFFFF

all conflict with Intel 8244BX PentiumII Proc. to AGP controller.

Is this normal - if not how can I fix it?

Something with the mouse, Mark.. press either button (I constantly forget which) and the fairy will fly away from you. By moving the mouse, and I thought the cursor buttons, you can free-flight.

Are you running on Win95? Win95 always reports address conflicts with AGP boards, this is normal.
For win98 it should be clear. What was your old video board? What type of cpu do you have? what motherboard? Maybe you didn't get all the old drivers off?

(If you have a p3, don't run win95 as it doesn't support the extra Katmai instructions, move to win98)

In the Matrox Tech Demo, I hit the number 0 and use the mouse buttons and spin the trackball! YEE-HA!!!!

Celeron @ 100 x 4.5
ABIT BH6
128MB SDRAM

My old video card was a 4Mb Mystique.

I tried the TechDemo again last night and it's actually worse than I posted above:
If I try and change any of the settings (excpet bumpmapping or filtering) the screen goes blank for about 30 seconds and when it returns none of the settings have changed.

Free flight works OK, changing the bumpmapping and filtering work OK too but
the rest doesn't.

The drivers are 4.11.01.1110 and the powerdesk is 5.11
