Hey people,
Been a while since i posted that message.
Anyway, i figured out what it was, although i don't UNDERSTAND what it was :O)
It was basically down to a registry tweak called:
WriteCombining
If i remember correctly, v5.13 and above of powerdesk had/have it enabled by default!!!
When i booted up in safe mode, and forced it to '0' in the registry, rebooted, all was ok....
But now i have BX440 chipset (soooooooo happy to get rid if the VIA)
Oh, changed from a Millenium G200 to a Marvel G200 (great card)
All working fine right now
