  • HELP - TechDemo not working

I tried running the TechDemo on my MAX - if I leave it to run everything works fine, but if I try and change any of the settings the screen goes blank for about 30 seconds then it comes back but none of the settings have changed!

Changing bumpmapping and filtering work but the rest doesn't.

    Any ideas?

    System is:
    Celeron @ 100 x 4.5
    ABIT BH6
    128MB SDRAM

    I'm running Windows95 OSR2.1 with the Matrox 5.30 drivers.

    I'm fighting the same problem...

I was able to get it to run at 800x600 by setting it to 800x600 and disabling the menu in the TechDemo .cfg file.

Question for you; does Expendable run? For me, it doesn't, and I'm wondering if the 2 problems are related.

I've been waiting for a response from Matrox Tech Support for more than 2 weeks on the subject.

If I learn any more, I'll be sure to post it here.

A friend had the same problem, he could not run the Tech demo. His problem was that he had Multi Display enabled and when he disabled that it worked just fine.

About the expendable issue, first check that your AGP apparture size is atleast 128MB.

If you get this message "BDF is missing!" then you will have to insert your Matrox CD-Rom, and if it still displays that message try reinstalling Expendable.
