  • G400 at 83mhz bus speed?

Hello all- I am thinking about overclocking my celeron 366 to 458mhz via 83mhz FSB. I was wondering how stable the G400 is with AGP 1/1 at this speed. Are there any negative long term effects from running at this speed. I wouldn't want to hurt my prized G400.

    My system
    ABIT Bh6 MB
    Celeron Slot-1 366mhz
    192 MB PC100 RAM
    13.5 GB IBM Deskstar HDD
    4.3 GB Seagate HDD
    Matrox 16MB G400 OEM
    Panasonic 5x DVD
    Yamaha 4x4x16 SCSI CD-RW
    3Com PCI Ethernet card
    Tekram DC390F PCI SCSI Adapter
    Diamond Monster MX300 Sound
    Modem Blaster 56KB USB

Also does anyone know if any of the hardware listed above will have trouble on an overclocked PCI bus? I am concerned about the network card. Thanks!

It's Quite stable... though the card may drop down to 1xAGP because of Buss noise, this will be done automatically if needed...

at 83Mhz you might have other problems with things like HD and memory...
As far as the long term effects no one can really say, I've been running my G200 at 124Mhz FSB (83Mhz for AGP) for over 6 months no problems...

No probs here at 83mhz. I've been running my system for over a year at 83mhz, and my G-400 for three months (since I got it). It defaults to AGP 1X, but I just force it to 2X via the reg hacks. Not a peep from it so far.

      Cheers,

Its just that when you find a graphics card that will run 100% stable with no conflicts on an over clocked system It just makes me smile :]

here have a look for yourselves :-

        G400 MAX
        P3 450 running at 630 mhz (140 fsb) 2.0v s-code SL35D Costa Rica (oem)

Is it worth me forcing my agp from x1 to x2 I have heard that it can cause instabillity, what are you experiences of this.

How do you force the agp to x2 anyway ?
