Many people including myself have problems playing region 1 discs (NTSC) on their PAL TV. I have found these setting to be the best to cure the problem:
1. DualHead -> DVDMax Options you have to turn on
"Preserve source cropping"
2. In DVD Region Selector http://www.inmatrix.com/:
- Cinemaster -
- chose your region (1)
Decode setting: Full Quality (cpu)
Sample Rate: 48000 (or. 44100 if your soundcard doesn't support it)
DeInterlacing: Force Weave
Enable Hardware Optimization: ON
Enable 3:2 Pulldown Reconstruction: ON
(more options)
Surface Flip Mode: Overlay ( Riva128/Matrox) *Default*
Surface Flip Position: Top of Display
Sound Compression Mode: Normal
AC3 DownSample Mode: Nearest sample (Worst)
AC3 SP/DIF Audio Type: 0 - *default*
AC3 SP/DIF Out Mode: Disabled
Dialog Normolization: ON
Enforce Flip Sync: OFF
Intel 740 page flipping: OFF
Triple Buffering: ON
Ignore downlscale caps: OFF
Use DirectBOB: OFF
3D Audio: OFF /maybe on
Use LFE decoding: OFF
Pro-Logic Surroound: ON
Enable SP/DIF: OFF
this is a 99% fix for me, you may be able to change some of the settings. I don't have AC3 so I have disabled it.
