These drivers (version 4.31.008) are compatible with the following products:

- Productiva G100 MMS (but no vid tools for the MMS with TV Tuner)

Anyone having problems with the new NT drivers? I installed them and my machine would lock up after about 5 minutes. I managed to get 1 timedemo off in Q2 and had a 3 fps improvement. Not quite worth it for me. The 4.22 drivers have been rock solid. Anyone know if it's a dual processor problem? I've got a dual P2 333, 416MB RAM, SCSI everything, G400 MAX, SBLive, and a Hollywood RealMagic DVD decoder. Thanks.

No, I'm sorry, no such problem here. I'm puzzled about this though (taken from the release notes):

New Features

Added 1280x960 support

However, either it doesn't work, or I just haven't figured how to get it working. There's just 1152x864 and 1280x1024, like with earlier NT drivers. I'll try to add the res to the monitor file manually.

Three cheers though: It's great to have release notes(!), and 1280x960 is/would be a great addition. Go figure about #3...

I had to complety uninstall my previous matrox drivers. When I installed it the first time I noticed that the PD version was still 4.22 and not the newer version then I said oh I better complety uninstall the drivers then make sure NT is using the standard VGA driver, then I rebooted, then installed the latest matrox drivers and I got the newer version number in matrox.

One very dissapointing thing is that the OpenGL didn't fix anything for quake II I still get random spots of flicker most strongly where objects are lighting by a light source. This is most anoying.
The OGL seems to be a little faster maybe 5fps or so. But I with the stupid flicker it's not enough.

Yes! 1280x960 works fine after having added an entry for this resolution to the monitor definition file. Pretty cool

You can find the correct definition for your monitor using the Win98 PD 5.30 advanced monitor settings (Adjust Current Display Mode). You have to uncheck Use simplified monitor controls first.

This is what I'm using for my Iiyama VisionMaster PRO 17:

H_FPORCH   = 32
H_SYNC     = 112
H_BPORCH   = 296
H_SYNC_POL = 4
V_DISP     = 960
V_FPORCH   = 1

Yeah sure there is, but your monitor may not accept the settings I'm using. In the very worst case you'll nuke it. If you want to try anyway, here's what you should do:

• Make a user defined profile for your monitor (for documentation purpose, let's call it XXXX)
• Go to your "..\MGA NT PowerDesk\mon" directory
• Make a backup copy of your mga.mon file
• Find your newly defined monitor definition (User.Defined.XXXX)
• Add a line 1280X960 = NI, *User-Defined_XXXX_,(1280X960)
• Create a tag [*User-Defined_XXXX_,(1280X960)]
• On the next line, add the settings from the code tag I posted before.
• Save the file
• Delete the file mga.bin
• Open up Matrox Display Properties
• Select the monitor tab and get some coffee
• Select your modified monitor profile
• Apply it
