  • AGP Aperture... 64 or 128???

    Hi.
I have always had my aperture set at 128
(the highest it goes on my jetway BX2000 MBoard)
but a friend told me the other day that it should be set to half my memory (128mg)
so should it be 64? and will it increase performance?

    what exactly is it?
i thought it was the bandwidth between my marvel G400 and the pc but my friend says that its the amount of system memory used by the card when transfering stuff
thats why it shouldnt be all i have?

so whos right or are we both wrong??
Thanks for taking the time to help,
    CMB

With the G400 and other heavy AGP texturing cards (TNT/TNT2, etc.), 128 should be considered the minimum (even if you have 64MB of RAM), sometimes 256 is necessary to get the card stable. Of course if everything is working where it sits and you are satisfied with performance, then leave it alone, unless you want to experiment.
