That little search option at the top of the main forum page is quite handy!

Don't bother installing a fan, it really doesn't run that hot.
I have a G400 on one system and a TNT on another system, the Matrox is running about 30 degrees F cooler than the TNT.
I don't think it needs it.

Forget Kruzin's reference...that topic is way out of touch.

Hardly. It got off topic with case cooling (as it always does), but the first 10 posts answered blades original questions, including the pics he asked for. And there are many other threads on the same topic from the past, if the search feature had just been used

Yes, it's me. The culprit for that aforementioned thread on the same topic. Yes, I did use the search function first before posting, but felt that the old threads were so old that the topic deserved to be revived, in case there was renewed interest or new opinions.

As it would seem, this does seem to be a favourite topic of alot of people and I appreciate getting more up to date opinions and suggestions, even if they might reiterate something already mentioned on an old thread. The pictures are great too!

Blades, if you haven't already checked out the thread that Kruzin mentioned, you probably should. There's tons of info there to answer your questions.

As you'll see there, someone already set up a rig on both sides of the card. There's a small description about how they did it too. I think it was DuRaNgO, but what's in a name anyway.

Hey how come you guys need to mount fans? Dosen't your G400 already come with a fan?? or is that only with the MAX, sorry I'm stupid.

That's right Jonng, only the Max comes with a fan. The vanilla only has the heatsink.

James you forget to say. "OUH WHAT A HEATSINK". blades pentium fan was good for me but I improuved my overclockibility by pouting heatsink to the memory. The fan for me dosent do much difference. But certenely your card will live longuer with it.

is it safe to stick a fan w/ heatsync..on the other side of the heatsync that came w/ the board..or will the metal(heatsync) like end up messing electric connections on the board..
