OpenGL severe lockups when DVD installed??!
My G400 (16MbSH) is running beautifully on my cellery 300A(@464) in D3D AND OpenGL. The other day I borrowed a DVD drive (Samsung) from a friend, installed the drive with no problems, installed the G400 DVD player and watched in awe!!
Later I tried to play the Q3 demo (latest) and within 2-3 seconds the PC locked up. This also occured in HalfLife (OpenGL). D3D also seemed not as stable but not as bad. Long story short I left the software alone and simply unplugged the DVD drive.
All then worked as before. Anyone else come across this (or anything similar)???
BTW The drive was set up to use DMA (however so was the CD drive it replaced ... hmmmmm)
