  • Dual Head and USB?

    Hi!

I have not found any information about this
    so help is appriciated.

    I have a G400 MAX.

I have twin Mitsubishi Pro 900u monitors, with passive USB hubs and a USB interface to the adjustments of the monitor.

USB and the video card do NOT interact with each other. i.e. it doesn't matter what vid card you have, you can still access the USB interface on the monitor, provided you have USB on your computer, and the USB port(s) on your computer are attached to the monitor. The USB control software understands that there are two monitors, and lets me choose which one I want to adjust.

So, to answer your question, yes, you can use a USB monitor when using DualHead. More accurately, DualHead has nothing to do with the USB functionality of your monitor. :-)

A strange but not uncommon misunderstanding is that the people think that USB is used to transfer the video signal to the monitor.

USB is ONLY for controlling the monitor parameters (brightness, contrast, geometry, etc.) The "picture" is transferred through VGA cable. That's it. Full stop.
