    GlX vs Windows

    GlX Q3A Celery 400 16 bit

    Linux Windows
    Demo 1 Demo 2 Demo 1 Demo 2

    6x4 33.0 31.7 30.5 29.2
    8x6 32.9 31.6 30.5 29.1
    10x7 31.5 30.7 29.8 28.3
    12x10 23.4 23.6 26.8 26.3

    This is really interesting because...

    The GlX driver lacks multitexture
    Has poor AGP so far
Doesn't have all the WARP code
Been in development for 7 months

Now it would be nice if Matrox would release all the WARP microcode so the GLX would get even better.

No 32 bit support yet for the GLX yet so no 32 bit tests.

Yes it also does more than just Quake.

Poor AGP? No way, because the GLX drivers do direct texture rendering from AGP memory where as Matrox Windows drivers do not. When GLX gets multitexture, it will be faster in every resolution than the Windows drivers.
