  • Please recommend a monitor to pair up with my MAX........

Can you guys suggest a monitor to go with my MAX? I currently have a ViewSonic P775, but it is loosing its focus big time.......I sent it back for service in September, but now it's happening again. I am giving up with this one.......and ViewSonic.

My preferences: 17"-19", must do at least 1280x1024 > 85hz. Trinitron (or other "tron"s), normal CRT, or FD are all welcome.

    Any suggestion are welcome, thanks!
    I want the T&L in my G400!

    Anything Sony! Seriously.

    I'm running a CPD520GS.

I've used OptiQuest, Viewsonic, Mitsubishi, Ilyama (or however you spell it), and I always went back to Sony. With my current one, It's a love affair.

    Ooh yeah baby.

I agree - Sony or Mitsubishi. I bought twin Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u monitors (www.mitsubishi-display.com). They work very well with the MAX.

Keep in mind that the second display is limited to 1280x1024, at I believe 75 or 85hz refresh.

Still, it's nice to push the main up to 1600x1200 and have the other head at 1280x1024.

      Just my $0.02.

hmmm....I have a PT775 and it's the best damn monitor I've ever used and I've used them all. I'd still recommend a ViewSonic. Sony's tend to be to dark. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with a Viewsonic, Sony, NEC, or Nokia.

btw-This really belongs in the hardware forum.

I am running the iiyama vision master pro 450 19" and it is NICE! anandtech.com had a review recently on it. It is so flat it is almost concave. Very sharp and crisp. The two monitors that I have heard bantered around in the 19" realm are the iiyama vm450 and the mitsu.

What I would honestly do is go to the stores and LOOK at the monitors mentioned here. It is YOUR eyes that have to stare at it every day. Try going to diff. comp. stores and staring at the iiyama, the mitsu, the high-end viewsonic and whatever suits your fancy. Heres the iiyama review, and he reviewed it with a g400 attached . http://www.anandtech.com/html/articl...?document=1082 Here is a link to a review of the mitsubishi 19" http://www.maximumpcmag.com and click reviews and enter under company mitsubishi and search. Sorry but the link to page wouldn't work in the post as noticed by my excessive edits.

            Here is a nokia 19" review http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardwar...s/nokia_446xs/

Iiyama's Vision Master Pro450 is excellent. So is Mitsubishi's Diamond Pro 900u.

I think the two best are Viewsonic and Mitsubishi. I use Viewsonic PF775 (Perfect Flat screen using Aperture Grill Technology). It can display 1024x768 up to 118Hz in vertical refresh rate. High enough to make our eyes always fresh. The image quality is very good.

Mitsubishi is also a great choice. Pick a DiamondPro if you'd like to choose Mitsubishi.

                      Hoping this will help you.

chihuang, you may also want to look at a review of 19 inch monitors at ZD Net. Here is the link; http://www.zdnet.com/products/storie...339927,00.html
Always try and look at your chosen monitor in person if possible. Try different tasks on it, and take your time. In the past, I have purchased a monitor based on it's immediate "wow factor," then when I got it home, it didn't live up to my expectations, so I had to return it. Best of luck.
