  • PIII + TurboGL

Everybody seems to be pretty happy with the new version of the TurboGL, especially owners of the older Intel and AMD chips. I was just wondering if that is all that is new with the drivers. Are there any further optimizations for the TGL regarding PIII and K7 processors? Can anyone post some numbers, impressions, or complaints?

Larry, I did the fastest of benchmarks after installing the new MCD. My scores were pretty much unchanged in Quake 2 and 3.

I kind of enjoyed installing it, however.

As I stated in the other thread ... Using Quake III Arena, I see the same FPS for 1024x768, 1-4 FPS gain in 800x768x16, and a 2 FPS loss at 640x480x16. This is on a PIII/450.

I did notice that they have the model now working in Quake III Arena player setup.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

paulcs, I too enjoy the installation of new drivers! Unfortuantely, I'm not at my computer right now, so I can go through the same bliss that you describe.

Could I just ask a small favour from anyone with the new TGL? The "skin selection" bug in Quake 2. Is that fixed? Thanks!!!
