    I hate to interrupt you all, but I must give out some compliments here. Syntech and some others are being incredibly helpful here and very nice and patient at the same time. This deserves a commendation, but since I'm sick at home, I don't think you'd want me to pin a medal on ya.

      The reasons that the G400 wants to be at a high IRQ (9 or above), is because of IRQ priorities, and edge/level activation modes.

      IRQ3 is one of the lowest priority IRQs. So right now, pretty much everything in your system is given prefference over the G400.

      Then there is level/edge activation. Lower IRQs are edge activated, higher ones are level activated. Matrox cards have always been designed for level activation.
