  • Help!... S.O.S..... MAYDAY......

ok now that i got your attention. i am starting to get desprate. i have tryed every thing except 1 completely disableing agp (cant figure out how to do it) or turning off agp side banding (again don't know how to do it.) this is my problem...

evey now and then my system will crash, while in a game usally. apon restarting windows i see nothiong but messed up grapics (usally the last image i saw when the comp locked up along with brown blocks at the top of the screen or vertical lines. normal shutdowns don't cause this problem only when i have to 3 finger salute the comp or turn off the power. due to a lock up. i used to see this a lot when i was at 2xagp forceing 1xagp (and verifying with pci list) has cuased the problem to show up a lot less but still once or twice every few days i have to uninstall and reinstall my drivers to get going again.) could some one email me that program that matrox has sent out to a few people that fixes things, or tell me indetail how to dis able sidebanding and or agp transferes totaly. i want to try this and see if the problem gose away or not.

please someone send me this file and or tell me how to kill agp /sidebanding or even better yet give me an idea of what is cuaseing my problem. im pretty sure its the agp implmintation of the amd driver i wish i knew how to get rid of it to see.(with out once again reinstalling windows)

defualt (ah what ever the 500 is set at, dam is that my problem?)i think defualt for the 500 is 1.6 . checking the scematics my other option is 1.7 is 1.7 safe (i have a fkk32 sink)

of corse this all depends on weather you are talking about cpu core voltage. the g400 is not ocerclocked (its fast enough for me the way it is)

That's why it wasn't sold as a "real" Athlon 650.
          I bet that if it has a 650 core w/ 3.1 ns L2 and you up the voltage to 1.9v it'll do 800 L2 1:2 and just maybe 850 1:3!
This seems to be the sweet spot in OC'n them. I get best results if set to 1.9 Vcccore (not a misprint). I have the AMD technical documentation CD for all their CPU's and it states a grey area between 1.85 and 1.95 as being the maximium "safe" voltage. I would strongly advise against going any higher!

pitt i just meant it has both the 3.1 nex catch and a 650 core. and that i only reset the multipyers back to 650. greebe will set the core to 1.7 and see if this fixes my problem. if it dose i will see about picking up the speed abit more latter.and ya i know my g40 will do near max speed.

Just curious but what is your AGP aperature size set to?....try setting it to 256 and or different settings to see if that helps clear it up!

                Cheers!

Casper, it doesn't have a thing to do with AGP size.

                    Hey Greebe,

I figured that it may acording his qoute:
evey now and then my system will crash, while in a game usally. apon restarting windows i see nothiong but messed up grapics (usally the last image i saw when the comp locked up along with brown blocks at the top of the screen or vertical lines. I have heard that the aperature size can sometimes fix this, although maybe our friend has had the good fortune of fixing it, which would be the best for all!

                    Cheers!
