Windows 2000 Final and G400

I am currently having a problem with the Duel Head feature on the G400 in W2K. The problem is that the two monitors are one big desktop, if i open up a web browser... it spans both monitors. This is a huge nuisance. In Windows 98, it was perfect for developing purposes to have one monitor a super high res while the other one was lower. I can't seem to get this to work in W2K! I think the problem may be that their is only one monitor installed, however when I try to install the Drivers (98 btw) for the Second Monitor, it says it can't do it. I definetly don't want to put 98 back on just for this. Thanks.

After reading through the archives of the Forum I discovered how to have things maximize in the first monitor. My problem now however is still that I can NOT change the resolution of the second monitor to something lower. You try 1280x1024 in a 14", it isnt pretty... or easy. Hope you guys can help.
