i have a problem when enabling dvd max, the screen seems to skip a frame every other second on my tv but playback is smooth on the monitor.i have tried turning v sync on & off but this doesn,t stop it. i don't use cinemaster or win dvd because i get pops & crackles from my rear left speaker with ac-3, with power 2.5 & earlier versions sound is great.the only way to stop the pops etc.. is if i run my system at standard 100fsb instead of 124fsb, but i don't want to keep changing settings every time i want to play dvd's. the other thing is power 2.5 doesn't recognise my g400max so i can't enable hardware accelerator under options, is there any way of getting around this?

I've the exact same problem with the TV skipping some frames while monitor is good.
It occurs with some dvd's most play perfectly. I just use the standard cinemaster g400 ver. I've tried every setting within dvd genie 3.2 and dvdmax options. are these two conficting?
Our problem seems to have something to do with dvdmax not player software.

Hi,
what your talking about is a judder when playing NTSC (reigion 1) dvd's on your computer
monitor is fine but the tv judders once every second? either a little, or a lot
This is well documented. run a search for judder, or DVD skip or something and you will find loads of threads, (i think most are in hardware or desktop forums)
this happens because NTSC is 30fps and PAL is 25, so DVDmax drops every 6th frame to make it 25fps
it can be VERY noticeable, but I found if you enable 3.4 pull down reconstruction (or something like that) then it minimises it.
There is talk that matrox may enable PAL 60, (uses PAL color info but at NTSC frame rate) in its driver set though Haig doesnt seem to hot on it. Most people feel that this would be acceptable by Matrox, Esepcially since DXR3 cards , ect dont have this problem (well my pals doesnt)
and it is a shame since most UK releass have extra things dropped from them(matrix's Carrie Anne Moss commenty, and Blades Sound only commentry to name but a few)
so.. Have i helped?
