  • Can't get millenium g400 to work...

Win98 bluscreens and crashes all the time when I'm not in failsafe mode and when I use the matrox drivers. It works fine in Linux and in failsafe mode or when I use the standard vga-drivers, but it doesn't work when I use the drivers from Matrox.

I've forced agp x1 mode, Changed the apperture size down to 8, installed the latest via agp drivers in normal mode, installed the latest bios, loaded failsafe settings in bios, removed all the other cards, I've tried everything!
I'm just a few inches from throwing my g400 out!

Since it works just fine when I don't use the matrox drivers, I think it's here the problem is... Is there a setting that I should disable or something?

    What should I do?

    My system:

    Matrox millenium g400 32m singlehead
    Sound Blaster live! value
    128 pc-100
    amd k6-2 300 mhz
    dfi P5BV3+ rev B+

A list of your IRQ assignments would be helpfull ...
(the G400 needs an IRQ of 9 or above and doesn't like to share it with other components besides PCI steering)

    What you could try is:

    - use the uninstaller
    - change GraphicsApertureSize to 256MB
    - leave the PCI slot next to your AGP slot empty
    - install PD5.30 (there are some known issues with PD5.41 on some SS7 boards)

I uninstalled the drivers using the uninstaller, changed the aperturesize to 256,
and installed PD5.30 (the pci slot next to the agp was already empty), but it still doesn't work.

Checkit 3.0 says the following about my irqs:

      0: System timer

also unisntall allvideo drivers, reinstall your VIA drivers and then your display drivers. Also be sure that USB was enabeld in your BIOS prior to installation windows, else you will need to reformat and reinstall windows to get everything to work right.
