• The new BIOS

Hello

I have the G400 MAX, and I wonder if there is any idea updating the BIOS using the Unified BIOS #104.
In the specs for the BIOS the MAX doesn't seem to be covered - is this the case?

Regards
Kristian

Hi Kristian,

BIOS updates usually address problems, so I like to keep them up to date even if I am experiencing no problems. The notes.txt ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/bios/104notes.txt from Matrox's site covers fixes with the 1.04 release.

The MAX just uses the MGA G400 BIOS update, no special name on it. Just follow all instructions in the readme file contained in the mgafolder after you expand the bios_104 file

Before you update BIOS, make an emergency disk with a backup of your BIOS just in case something goes wrong. That is covered in page two of the readme. Page 7 covers the updating, with choices of in DOS or Win 9x/NT 4.0 environment.

So keep us posted!
