The AGP test to unreliable ?

It seems we get a lot posts saying there stuck in agp x1 and when they use the reg hacks they can run agp x2 without probs. There also a lot of poeple who are running in agp x2 and have to force agp x1.
Is the matrox test unreliable. Perhaps there should be an option with the drivers to select the mode rather than having to edit the reg or download the hacks.
How many poeple have had to change the agp mode?

Hmmm, that's an interesting suggestion. For one, mine seems to be stable except for ONE game that occasionally doesn't like AGP2x, so I have to use the reg hacks.

Like you, I've noticed that a lot of people here have to force it one way or the other.

It would be a lot better if they had an easier way to control it (like making it an option in PD).
