    Jedi,

You've been on this forum long enough to know that you really aren't going to get an answer to this question. I would like to know which of the following is higher on Matrox's list:

    1) Win9x DX7 Drivers

    2) WinNT Drivers

    3) Win2000 Drivers

My bet is on the Win9x with the Win2000 drivers coming in a close second. I'm guessing that the WinNT drivers are going out the door.

Well maybe its just me but I for one would appreciate maybe a little update now an then on the Matrox website, just to let us know that the drivers are still being worked on. I mean I understand they cant give exact release dates but any info is better than dead silence.

Drivers are always being worked on, it's just Matrox's way: To not say anything about unreleased things.

Of course, they are working on them.
And you do get information on progress, if you look for it.
Just the other day, in your own Homeworld thread in the gaming forum, I spoke of a specific bug that had been fixed in the latest beta drivers. Reporting bug fixes is one of the few things our NDAs will allow us to talk about with regards to driver updates

Trust me, they never stop working on the drivers. Just since September, I have D/L'd and tested well over a dozen different driver builds (not including various TGL builds, and varius utilities). And that's just for 9x, not NT or 2k. No, we don't talk about every build that we test (that would just piss people off ), but we do give the info we can, like reporting that bug fix in your HW thread. Features (like TGL), benchmarks, and release dates are things that will never get an answer.

So, in the mean time, just rest assured, that when any new drivers are ready, THAT is when they will be released. DX7 has not been out all that long. Completely re-coring the drivers is not a quick task, and definatly not easy. Would you rather have them quickly, or done right? You generaly can't have it both ways...

                              "Marketing bafoons"?
                              Hehehee.
I don't know anyone from marketing, but the folks I do deal with aren't particularly bafoonish (although I hear Alex somewhat resembles a chimp...oh wait, you said baFoon, not baBoon )...

I as thinking more about the MURCers it would annoy.
