Major Win2k Driver Bug

Ok, I already fixed the problem by running in 16-bit mode (which works like a charm, let me tell ya!), but for the benefit of those who haven't already gone there... that site is useless. It basically says:

"EZ-CD 4 already works under Win2k."

Dammit I can't find that stupid fix anywhere. I KNOW I saw one somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it. Sorry. Why are you stuck on Creator anyways? There are so many better CDR progs out there. Is there a reason your stickin with that one?

The three programs I use right now are as follows:

EZ-CD Creator 4.0 Deluxe
CDRWin 3.8a
Disc Juggler

Disc Juggler I use for multiple backups and the odd .cdj file, or for .iso's that EZCD has trouble with (less now that 4.0 is out).

EZ-CD I use for Music CD's (Spin Doctor is cool, as is their "build-a-music-cd" interface). Also for .iso burning and building a bunch of random directories into a CD.

CDRWin I use for copies, Playstation CD's, and basically everything else.

I would love to ditch EZ-CD. Show me another program that burns ISO files as well as doing directory structures and cool music CD's and I'll switch. And no, I WON'T use CDRWin for audio discs, it SUCKS for that purpose. No cue sheet editing here...

Another CD burning program, which no ones mentioned, is NTI's CD Maker Pro, I've found it far better than Adaptec's Ez CD Pro.

NTI is a piece of garbage. Well, ok I take that back. It's the Mac of CD burning software. Simple to use, no advanced features. For kids and the computer illiterate, it's perfect!

(Not saying you fall into the above categories, but have you used EZ-CD recently?)

What about Easy CD Pro? They used to bundle it with older burners and don't make it anymore, but the last version does ISO's and audio discs just fine. No advanced features mind you, but it's only 3 megs. A lot less wasted space than Creator. As for ISO's, I usually just use Winimage to extract all the files in the ISO and burn it with CDRwin.

Ok it's a little bit off topic but do you know how to install DirectCD 3.0 ? The install program said that this version doesn't work with Windows 2000.

Yes, you can do what you've described, but you lose all disc layout information and bootability, etc. that way.

And many games pack the disc super-full, and you can't re-burn the program after you've extracted, at least not without re-optimizing the way the files are packed. Office 97, for example, took up 750 megs on the hard drive. Go work that one out!

And as for EZ CD Pro, since they stopped making it we have no access to new, spiffy advanced features, which is what I like about EZ-CD Creator 4. 4 is the first tolerable build. I used to use Disc Juggler for ISO's, and make audio cd's... ugh... by hand in CDRWin!
