  • g400 max and new beta driver/overclocking

with the 541 drivers i tweaked the g400 max up too 175/210 cos they where the best settings i could use!
today i installed the beta driver
and thought i would try overclocking abit more and to my surprise i upted from 175 to 180 and the mem clock sorta scared me abit i got it from 210 all the way up to 240

i dont wanna go further as i might damage it!
it ran through 3dmark2000 stable as a rock gave me 300 marks more )
ive now lowered it to 180/216 from fear of damaging it!

    im not bullshitting u guys!
try it see if it works for u?

    i find that very unlikely.
To choose those settings have you passed the SYSPLL 450mhz mark? On my card the performance doesn´t improve from that number beyond and from 500mhz up the number aren´t acurate to those really going on the card so that could be it. And one more thing, higher multipliers also hurt performance. And slowing the memory timings to gain mhz doesn+t increase performance either (on my case)

To make my point i post some 3dmark results:

      with vanilla @171/214 on a P2 350@392 i get a fillrate of 305, 305 MP (single and multi-texture that is)

        Cool leporis
I mean, how did you get your vanilla board to that clock frequency? I persume additional cooling with both your case and G400 chip + memory? Is this correct?
What ns(nano-second) rating does your memory have? Please tell me.. Come on.

well JACKYi i must say that i have a small fan on top of the heatsink but no extra case cooling. But just to be reply to your post i tried without the fan and it ran flawless on 3dmark2000 and a couple of hours on UT @ 174/217/174. With the fan on i think i can go up to 180/2 (gclock) because even with no fan it takes a while to hang at this speed.

            my card rocks!!!
Putting the fan i checked and i have plain 6ns access sgram memory
            regards, Leporis
