Is there an add-on board for DVD decoding on the G400Max?

No, I don't think so, but the board helps decoding to a lesser degree if you have the horsepower that is needed (Pentium2 400+).

The g400 doesn't need any addon board (and seeing a g200 in action with a Celeron 400 implies that it never needed one either!).

With good a software decoder, the g400/g200 are the best dvd software cards available. The geforce is close 2nd btw.

WinDVD 2000 btw. the better than the OEM Cinemaster that Matrox give you.

I use the g400 vanilla 32Mb d-h on a vga projector.

The TV-out is not bad either, being marginally worse than standalone decoders like the Hollywood+
