Ok, I've just spent the last few hours reinstalling w2k to use the acpi hal and have a few tips for others. First of all read these kb articles to understand a little about how w2k determines acpi. Q216573
Q224826
and the acpi home page. First make sure you have latest bios update and yours can do acpi. And then if the w2k Txtsetup.sif does not list your bios as a good bios you can change it to force acpi. btw, I have the abitbx6r2 and it wasn't listed so I had to force it. As I was writing this I decided to test it out. I did a standby and my pc went into standby mode. I went and got a drink came back and hit the power button and it came back alive and the workstation was auto locked. Pretty cool stuff!
irq settings with acpi:
1 - keyboard
6 - floppy disk controller
7 - Matrox Millennium G400 DH
7 - Intel PCI to USB Host Controller
7 - Vortex Multifunction PCI Parent
7 - Aureal Vortex Audio
7 - Adaptec 2940u2w
7 - 3com 3c905b-tx
8 - system cmos/rtc
9 - microsoft acpi-compliant system
13 - numeric data processor
