    I got a good chuckle out of your comment. Thanks, I needed that! You aren't far off from what happened here. A cable tech and a computer tech arrived. The cable guy installed the cable incorrectly and the signal to the tvs was way too low for viewing. The @home/NIC installer regaled me with stories of his previous job: pro wrestling !!! During the install my sound disappeared and it was downhill from there.

      My system is a lot like yours. Try getting your irqs set up like this. I have no problems.
      I'm using PD5.5b.
      Take out the modem unless you realy need it. Win modems with voice have caused me trouble before.

        Ok.After a very lengthy ( and sympathetic) conversation witht Matrox tech support, I am looking at three possibilities, 1) the 128RAM is defective (although haven't seen any invalid page fault errors), (2) The flashed M/B Bios caused a problem or (3) bad G400 card. I'll let you know.
