When I try to play DVDs the Matrox Player loads fine but when it tries to play the DVD I get "Can not start presentation! Errorcode 0x80034013." Does anyone know what this means?
Someone suggested that this meant I needed DirectX 6 Media Run Time installed. Checked, and sure enough it wasn't installed. So I downloaded it from MS and installed it. Problem is, I'm still getting the error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Matrox DVD Player off the drivers CD a number of times in case the installation was just bad, but the error continues.
The player I have is version 2.0.36.6145 (cinmst32.dll). The release date is 8-26-99. The G400 drivers I am using are 5.41. Could this be the problem? Do I need the older drivers to get the player to work? This is a new system, and the 5.41 drivers are the only ones that have ever been installed.
I am also having a problem getting DMA enabled on the DVD. Could this be the cause of this error? The root of that problem I believe is the Highpoint UDMA66 controller on the Soyo MB. I've posted elsewhere seeking a resolution for that one.
A solution to this problem would be highly appreciated.
