DVD appears thinner on TV

When I play a DVD using the standard Matrox DVD player and the DVD-MAX for output on the telly, the images appear thinner on the TV. It's like they're pressed in the width of the screen!
Does anyone knows how to solve this?

Display properties>Settings>Advanced>DualHead>DVDMAX options>Preserve aspect ratio (check approptiate options)
