Perhaps I can answer instead, the picture simply freezes on the tv while the sound continues playing, this apparantly doesn't happen with the matrox player.

            Grego

I have a question though, whenever I try to select software-deinterlace, the player wont run, it gives me some sort of weird error in cinmst32.dll (I think it is)

Cypro, I had exactly the same problem (Region 2 PAL DVD's stuttering on a PAL TV). I seemed to have resolved it by uninstalling the Matrox drivers and the DVD player.

Following a reinstall it seems fine. I use DVD Genie (3.28) but leave the settings on default except for the Region Code and the SP/DIF AC3 Output which I change to use my Soundblaster Live! card (I have a Dolby Digital TV). Contrary to previous threads, I did NOT need to upgrade the Cinemaster engine to get Dolby Digital out - I'm using the DVD s/w on the Matrox install CD.

              Hope this helps.

              Le B.

Got the same prob here, region 2 dvd's stutter after a while, not directly, but it starts stuttering after one or 2 minutes(?), ONLY on the Pal TV with DVD MAX, not on the monitor.

reinstalled the Matrox DVD player, with region2 set, and that seemd to make it go away. but NTSC discs stutter due to the NTSC>PAL conversion...

set a few things for the deinterlace stuff, and it goes away, and then region 2 discs starts to stutter after a while again...
