The 3D screensavers are OpenGL applications and are therefore accelerated by the G200 and G400 ICDs on Win9x, NT, and Win2k.

On the other hand, the OpenGL screensavers are some of the most poorly written OpenGL programs I have ever seen, so they won't be fast. they should however be faster than software.

Wrong, nope. The Microsoft OGL Screen Savers are almost universally NOT accelerated under Win98.

How can I tell? Let's put it this way... I put a RageIIc running under WinNT and a G400 running under Win98 side by side. The G400 is running on a P3-500, and the RageIIc is on a Celeron 300.

Which is faster on the OGL Screen savers? The Rage IIC! WOOHOO!

        Tells you something, don't it?
