    I have an easier solution for you. Get yourself a dedicated hardware card like the
    hollywood plus for 60 bucks. I too was getting "jerky' video with my g400 untill I broke down and installed a sigma hollywood plus mpeg2 decoder card in my system.What a difference it made. My dvd movies play flawlesly without a hiccup at any resolution and it also has a tv out port for those of you with a single head g400.The video quality is good too.

      sometimes when I watch cinemax late at night, the picture gets jerky. But only for about 10-15 minutes. Then it goes back to normal. But then I am so sleepy...
